Personal Experience

The first time I participated in the Harbor Walk was in 2012. I found out about this walk because my friends mother works as a heart doctor at Tufts Medical Center. She was particpating in the walk and was raising money for her team "The Heart Throbs".

The second I found out about this walk, I was hooked.  I wanted to participate because the walk because the cause is something I could not turn down. the Harbor Walk & Run presented by DCU for Kids is a 6-mile walk and 5K run along the South Boston shoreline to raise funds for Tufts Medical Center and Floating Hospital for Children. Since the event's inception, it has raised nearly $2 million to benefit the organization's mission to heal, comfort, teach, learn and seek the knowledge to promote health and prevent disease.

The year I participated the Harbor Walk & Run raised $400,000.  This money goes to not only improving both Tufts Medical Center and the Floating Hospital for Children, but it also goes to funding research for new discoveries in the medical world.
